Our History

The Merchant Property Group was founded in 1991 and it's wholly owned subsidiaries have been building houses in Yorkshire for over 20 years. The company steadily developed a commitment to quality - quality in construction, quality in the environment and quality in the service provided to its customers.  Every home we build is of the highest specification with attention to detail at the heart of our philosophy.

Today we pride ourselves on being a highly successful and reputable house builder specialising in modern family living.  We carefully design & construct a wide range of property types inclusive of 2, 3 & 4 bedroom homes so that we can offer choice to all of our customers.  Whatever the size and value whether it be a starter house or a large family home, all our properties are luxurious in style and affordable in price. Mark Oliver Homes create affordable housing for sale on council land that is either provided at nil consideration or at a discounted amount, thus giving excellent value for money. The company is very proud of its innovative scheme for providing affordable housing for purchase within local communities.

Several mixed tenure schemes have been, and continue to be, carried out with the assistance of forward-thinking councils who wish to see more affordable housing for persons who might otherwise be on their council waiting list. For instance, in Yorkshire, where certain derelict land which has a value of 10% of the open market value has been provided by several councils, enabling Mark Oliver Homes to provide housing to the local community at a discount to market value in excess of 30%.

Mark Oliver Homes consider these projects as true partnership ventures, as the councils wish to provide low cost home ownership to persons on their waiting lists thereby releasing council-rented accommodation to persons in greater need.
